Advantage Plus Cleaner shuts down too soon

I have a advantage plus rc. This is my second year of use and the unit shuts down after a hour. Sometimes the full bag light comes on even though the bag is empty.

I noticed that the manually turning the impeller is hard when this happens. When I loosen the screw holding down the impeller the unit works longer. It seems that the impeller does don't spin freely and is jamming on the gaskets. Only when I loosen the screw and release the pressure on the rubber gasket from the impeller does the unit work longer.
