Hi. I tied this test and the brushes rotated only in one direction and did not stop. I think this is not correct. Is there another self test or diagnosis to check for errors? Second: where are the sensors, for instance gyro, out of water, wall sensor? Thanks very much in advance.

My Dolphin M5 Supreme has worked flawlessly for 7 years until recently. I set it in the pool and it just moved in circles, one set of tracks/brushes turned normally, the other set did not. I noticed the center brush assembly lost some bearings on one side, so I ordered and installed a new assembly. By hand it moves freely, but when powered on, it still only runs in circles. I'm stumped. Any ideas? Thank you.

I have tried several cleaners now and all the cords tangle to the point that it makes the unit clean in a very small circle. Very frustrating. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a design flaw?

We have had a Nautilus Dolphin CC unit for about 2 seasons. It has run perfectly until or puppy chewed up the cord from the power supply to the unit that goes in the water. We purchased a new supply cord (12M S50). After replacing the cord the unit ran for about 15 minutes and then stopped moving. We can turn it off and back on and it will run a short amount of time and then stop again. It also seems to not run the same as it did before. (ex. Before it would travel across the pool and back and forth and up the walls, and cover a lot of area. Now it may only go a couple feet before stopping and returning and it a lot of the time not keep the from of the unit flat to the floor). I'm not sure if something went wrong in replacing the cord or if the cord is the wrong size. The cord did seem to be a bigger diameter than the previous cord.

Any help would be appreciated.

My Dolphin E 10 blows out dirt and debris from the top. The bag is in it securely so I don't know why it is doing this. It still does climb the walls and suction is still there.

This unit will move one direction a few inches, then the other direction a few inches, pauses then move a few feet and stops.

Nothing is obstructing the rollers.

My Dolphin Atlantis starts its program and does fine until it goes up th side wall. Then it lays on its side and stays there, then shuts off after a couple minutes. Just put a new 16M cord, was working fine before then. Help???

We just had our pool serviced for a power cord, dropped into the pool and it stopped working - spent 2 hours trouble shooting the problem - it works great outside of the pool and on the concrete - so dropped it back into the pool and immediately it stopped. I pulled it out and tried it again on the concrete and cleared all debris and it worked fine - back in the pool it went only to not work. Need some help.

Stopped working. Have 29 dc going to motor plug, but no movement from motor. Replaced motor, but still same problem. Power supply lights up and stays lit and can shift between the three settings with each lighting up. Everything seems to be good with track. It is possible that replacement motor is defective, but I think there is another underlying cause. I am just at a loss of what that might be..????

We just bought a house that has the Deluxe 4 cleaner . It works great however it doesn't pick up sand particles. I have sand in clumps all over the pool and it just goes right over it without picking it up. It does pick up everything else. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance

The robot will work, motor will turn on impeller and the tracks will go forward and backwards when the unit is half submerged in water. When the unit gets totally submerged it shuts off within seconds.

I got a Dolphin DX3 that stop working. After troubleshooting found out that the problem was a bad PCB. Unfortunately, no one sells it by itself, since they offer the whole motor assy for $500. So, I bypassed the PCB and placed instead a voltage stepdown device to feed my motors with 13 VDC. Then I use a timer for the power supply to set the working cycles, and my unit is back to work again...! Sorry Maytronics guys..you can keep your $500 assembly.

It just arrived today that we were exciting to have the new Nautilus CC Plus. It works nice for about two hours and then it stopped. I pulled it out to clean the filters and then put it back in the water. I turned on the battery box but all the lights were flashing. I can't find anything in troubleshooting what the flashing lights means. The on/off power, and led 1-3 lights were flashing. What does it means? I unplugged the power supply and wait for 10 minutes and put it back on. same results. What is happening? I tried to call the 888 customer service but they are closed so i'm guessing they won't be open until Monday.

HELP!!!!

I have a Dolphin Diagnostic that has suffered from the typical desiccant package that has ruptured and shorted out the circuit board. I understand that I can't get a new board. If someone can tell me what the diode (D9) is, I think I can fix my board. This diode is cooked and I can't read the numbers on it.

We just moved into a house with a pool and a dolphin cleaner. The unit has a remote, but the power supply cart controls are so sun bleached I can't see anything. The unit was working fine using the remote, but now the power unit turns off after a minute or two. I have cleaned the unit and reconnected everything to no avail. The manuals and website are useless for troubleshooting so I am lost and frustrated.

By mistake I tripped over the cable, that connects the Moby to the control box. What happened is, I ripped out the cable from the plug, that connects to the control box.

Luckily it seems the two braids just came out of the screw clamps, that holds them in place. My only problem is, that the plug has 4 holes, labelled 1 through 4 and the cable itself has 2 braids, one black, the other white. how are they connected correctly to the clamps 1-4 ?

I'm in possession of a Dolphin Dynamic 2002 he has been in use for 4 years now I wanted to use it again and he stops after 30 to 60 seconds I took him apart first thought that the transformer was broken, but tested Ok now i disassembled the engine compartment did not appear waterproof, the circuit board was dried and schhon made the 2 drive motors are ok but the suction engine is worn out the carbon brushes

We own a Dolphin Diagnostic 2001 since 2000 and have used it infrequently.

This year the rotor motor did not start and the robot stopped working. After disassembling the motor unit and GR 63x25 Junker rotor motor it proved that one of the brushes on the motor was sticking and made no contact. This could be solved easily.

I further discovered that the Diagnostic DC 6H DIAGMU02421 circuit board created some smoke and I would like to have it repaired. Can anyone tell me where to find the diagram of this board?

We use the Dolphin very infrequently and we will not consider buying a new one. It just bothers me to waste good material for only a small defect.

In an answer to the below comment on Dolphin not climbing:
Is there any slime or algae on the walls?
Is the water temperature below 65 degrees?

You may need to add PVA climbing rings to the rubber brushes.

I have just replaced my pool liner. My Dolphin worked flawlessly prior to the new liner. Now it will not climb up the sides. I have removed the filter plates to see if that was the issue but it still will not climb up the sides. It is flowing as much water out of the top as it did before the liner replacement. Just curios if you have run into this issue and do you know if new liners may have a coating for packaging purposes that will wear off in time. Thanks for your help

My primal x3 worked perfect last week. Today I turned it on and the powersupply that was replaced 3 months ago by maytronics seems to work fine, however the robot does not move. Completely dead. I checked the output of the powersupply and am getting 29.1 volts. Cable looks fine. Am I assuming its a dead motor? I just would like to confirm as I've never been thrilled with this robot anyway, so if the motors dead, I'll buy something else before bothering to repair.

My dolphin primal X3, with 9995672 power supply had a problem last night. I pushed power on supply and I heard a crackling noise. I tried again and same thing and it appears I popped the breaker on the outlet. Is there a way to repair the powersupply? If I bought a new powersupply, can I be sure that it didn't damage the robot?

Somewhere is a broken wire. If the power supply powers up without the robot plugged in then go on to disconnecting the cable from the robot and turn on the power supply with the addition of the disconnected cable. If no blown fuse then the problem in in the motor case and this will need replacing.

The small 1.25amp fuse on my diagnostic Power Supply unit keeps blowing. I have replaced it three times but keeps blowing immediately I switch on. Any tips as to what this might be ?

The same voltage is important. Depending on the machine the voltage will be AC or DC and the correct one must be used.
Model number is not important so long as the voltage and type power is the same.

Hi,
I have loved my Dolphin for the past 10 years. Runs fine. I have had it tangled in a few goggles and toys here and there over the years, but it did not seem to affect it's performance. Now it just started cutting out after 45 seconds of the start-up process. I checked the impeller and it was definitely not starting up along with the drive motors. I took it apart and all of the bearings seem fine. The timing track teeth definitely are worn to tiny triangles. I opened the motor and had to clean out the "moisture preventer" bag which had opened up and spilled inside. Motors seem sealed though, so no problem. Without any load, the motors still cut out after 45 seconds (although the impeller is now running fine). Power pack seems to put out a consistent 31-35VDC. There is a click heard inside the motor pack when it cuts off. Could it be the circuit board in the motor?

I have a Maytronics X5. Recently found that the impeller was shattered (have no idea how). I've cleaned all the debris and broken parts out. Unit starts up initially and both tracks move. After ~20sec tracks stop moving and then impeller motor starts but shuts down after 10sec. After that, nothing else. Fearing moisture on the circuit board I opened the motor unit but everything looks good and no moisture. I've tried resetting and nothing. Advice?

I have an m400 that I purchased this year. The foam rings that make up part of the tread are coming apart. One of them was found in the pool this morning. The device seems to be having more of an issue climbing the walls. Is there a DIY option that would get it back up and running that doesn't require replacing the tread?

I have a DX3 that is 2 years old now. Worked fine up until now.

When I plug the power supply into the outlet all the lights (including the on button) flash momentarily and then go out. Nothing else happens. Dolphin does not move and I can't seem to get the power supply to turn on.

The lights flash again momentarily when the power supply is unplugged.

What could be causing this? Is it fixable?

I am having a problem with my Dolphin Supreme M4 by Maytronics.
When I turn on the power supply the impeller turns for about 1 second and then stops. I have turned it by hand and it seems to be free. It is a little stiff but does not seem excessive . If your turn it swiftly by hand it will turn but stops quickly. It does not continue to spin freely. This appears normal to me.
I have checked the prongs on the power supply.
#1 is at 27.7 v
#2 is at 2 volts, it surges to approximately 4 or 5 v after it has been on for 3 or 4 seconds. This appears that it might be the same instant that the impeller turns for one second. The voltage returns to 2 v
I can turn the power supply off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on and it will repeat the same process.

I would appreciate any insight you could give me. I really need this fixed. It is an awesome machine and I don’t want to start the year without it.

1. is it ok to leave the robot hooked to his blue tubing in the pool one or 2 days turned off?

2. the blue tube likes to crimp and get tangled, have you come out with a better one that does not do that?

3. My husband became disabled so I have to do the pool. I have been a good sport about this task and Herman (our Pool Man Robot) helps by doing a fantastic job! Wish we had this years ago!!! But are there any easier or new ways to clean the bag or new type bags, I struggle putting in back on.

This comment just came in from an owner in Israel.

"My Dolphin robot was working for one minute and then stopping. The robot was just fine. The problem was with the power supply. One the four wires connected to the PCB on right inside the power supply was burnt due to heavy current load. It was barely connected and this was the reason for the problem. Once I replaced it, the robot started working again."

Hi, I have a Dolphin Diagnostic. When I turn it on, it will run for about 1 second, moves about 6" and then stop. The fan at the top does not spin during this time. If I turn the electrical box off and then back on, it will just do the same thing again. Unit is just 2 years old.

The fifth time I used my dolphin. It goes straight to the walls and tries to climb out of the pool. I reset it and it does the same thing. Most often the unit starts sucking in air, flips upside down and then float on the top of the pool eventually shutting down. I'm using the big refuse bag for the filter as I get leaves in the pool. Just received Dolphin Premier 5M Robotic Pool Cleaner and caddy today. Put caddy together and put cleaner in the pool. Turned it on and off it went! Only thing is one set of rubber tracks worked where the other set of rubber tracks was dead! I tried everything to correct it and even took plate off to check the rollers. It seems stiff and hard to rotate where the side that works seems more supple. Why do you think one side won't work? I'm so frustrated and disappointed.

Bought our Dolphin just 3 years ago, it has JUST run out of warranty, and it has JUST stopped working. The unit was working fine, then just stopped. I took the whole thing apart. Tested the power supply and it's outputting correctly. Tested the input at the motor, and it seems to be correct, but when I tested the circuit board in the motor, it seems power is coming to the board, but not going out to the motors. Is it possible to buy JUST the circuit board? If not, what's the next step. I do NOT want to have to buy a whole new motor. After only 3 years of use.

My Dolphin does a very adequate job in the deep end of my pool but will not go into the shallow end. My pool is 20 x 40 and I boulght the largest model Matronics available. Any Ideas?
ADMIN REPLY: If you have handle floats, use them. Otherwise, experiment with different handle positions. A bag full with heavy debris will keep the machine in deep water. Check for debris jammed behind the sideplates too!

Due to a rigging of the power cord, my dolphin 4 was plugged directly into a wall outlet. I am guessing this fried the circuit board. Now, the powere supply is still delivering voltage to the motor, but I get no movement.

Check the pulley. Is the motor shaft turning but the pulley is not? If you can't see the shaft then remove the side plate and the pulley and turn on the robot.

Your dolphin has most likely a problem inside the motor unit; either the electronic circuit board has a error or the track motor(s) are defectiv; corroded, or cole connections. Without opening the motor or with a special service unit it is not possible to find out. Regards vette

I got my hand on a used remote control (RC91752, black and. Green T-Type, says Maytronics 2002, Ver 65, ID. No. 03, after switch on). I tried to use it on my Dynamics 2002 (which has a 6H Dynamic DC motor unit installed). I can't get the Dolphin controlled trough the Joystick, it looks like the two devices aren't communicating to each other.
Questions 1: Are these two devices compatible, meaning should the work together?
Question 2: Do I have to configure the 2 devices, that they are able to communicate to together? (Matching ID's or somethng?)
Question 3: How can I do this? What are the steps to achive this?
Any answers more that welcome.

Correction, The distance between the inner center and outermost ring is 3/8 inch.
I tried to prop it up with some glue. I was thinking of cutting it between the smooth part & the threads, about 3/4 inch down the shaft.

This caused the pool cleaner to lose all power, as you can see, the outer connection is worn down.

I too found the problem with my. The Swivel Cable right next to the unit is ground down and lost its springiness. I was thinking of cutting it apart. I can pull it out, but think it will retreat as soon as I put it together.
What is the name of it?

I purchased my 2nd dolphin cleaner last year. The first one lasted 10 years with no problems. The new one stopped working last week. I called Maytronics and was directed to a two page troubleshooting guide(worthless). When I turn the cleaner on the fan will run for 3 seconds, off for 3 seconds. After 3or 4 times the brushes will turn about 6 inches and that's it. Any suggestions? Is there an authorized repair company in the Maryland area? I took it to Leslie's Pool's where I purchased it but they don't service this cleaner.

The cloth bag is a standard size. Aquabot bags will fit Dolphin, tiger shark, Blue Diamond Etc.
Nothing fits Smartpool except smartpool

To tighten slack replace the treads.

To check the wiring scheme, remove the socket from the power supply and see what wire goes where.
Many sockets are held i place with 2 screws and pull out. Make certain the unit is not plugged in.

My deluxe 4 was serviced under warranty by our dealer by replacing motor and power pack. The unit is now making a loud whin/whistle sound. The dealer say this is OK. What are your thoughts?

Our Diagnostic Dolphin automated pool cleaner is having problems with the belt drive. Repeatedly, the belt falls off the track and then we find small pieces of the yellow track fragments due to the grinding and continual motion of the gear. We are unsure what to do to fix this problem. Any help is appreciated.

Anyone have a idea on this issue- When I plug the dolpin power supply unit into a outdoor ground fult outlet , the outlet trips and no power to the dolphonpower supply. When I take the power supply to a non ground faulted outlet the Pwr Supply lights up but no movement on the dolphon itself.. Power supply mdl Diagnostic DC pn 9995670

I found part of the bag ripped off an stuck in the tracks, stopping the unit. Got the rag out but unit still won't move. I have checked voltage to drive motor and I have the correct amount. What now ? I can find zero pictures showing how to get to the pc board or drive mech.

I have a 2004 maytronics diagnostic which I purchased when my 2001 died. My 2004 quit working so I started trouble shooting both units. Power supplies on both are good, power cable on both are good, impeller motors on both are good, drive motors on both are good. When I opened the sealed unit on the 2004 unit I found R15 burned. If I jumper around it the drive motor will run, the impeller motor will run intermittent, the LED is blinking. The resistor appears to be a 6.51 ohm. Can I buys resistor or just send in the ECB?
On the older unit there is one large resistor which appears burnt, not sure of the value. Any way to get the ECB repaired or get a set of schematics?
After spending over $2,000 for the two of these, I really do not want to spend another thousand dollars when the total cost of repair parts would be less than five dollars

If your Dolphin moves a little bit and the impeller spins, but then stops after about 15 seconds it could be the graphite powder used on the motor getting onto the control circuit board.

Open up the unit and vacuum the circuit board to remove the graphite from the board. I had the same problem as you reported and when I did this the rover works and I have not had an issue since.

We have a Dolphin 3002 pro, it has taken to starting in the normal way but one side only starts slowly in one direction then stops. The other side works fine until the safety kicks in and the whole machine stops. I have taken off the side plate to check for debris, there is none. I found the bearings in one guide wheel had come apart so I replaced this from my stock. I then put everything back together to test but this has not cured the problem.

Any ideas?

I had an issue with the impeller spinning for 10 seconds and then never turning again until the unit was power cycled.

I think I have worked out the issue that caused this,which is that the carbon powder that they use on the motor gets out of the motor and onto the circuit board after a year or so. Every time you take the rover out and invert it to clean the bag you are shaking the powder around inside the unit.

When I opened the watertight box inside the cleaner I noticed a lot of the carbon powder on the circuit board. As carbon is a conductor I wondered if it was shorting the sensor circuit and so blew hard on the circuit board. When I power cycled the cleaner this time it started working normally.

If you have issues with your pool cleaner and have tried everything else then open up the watertight box and use a vacuum cleaner to such up any carbon on the circuit board and see if this fixes the problem.

Dolphin suggestion when the cleaner is being assembled when the wires to the circuit board have been attached a quick spray of polyurethane on the circuit board would stop this issue.

Hi, I have a Dolphin easykleen, and I have problems with the inclination sensor it's broken (due the rust) it's a plastic square box with an small ball inside and it has an infrared emisor and photoresistor to detect the inclination.
Where can I find the characterictics of this ir led and photoresistor or replace the complete sensor?
Please it's very important because the robot only have this problem to start to work!

Hi, Thanks for your help. One of the male pins on the plug attached to the long cable has burnt out and broke off in the female plug on the power supply. It is the pin that connects to the white wire. I realize that only two of the pins are used and I've swapped the bad pins for the good pins. This doesn't seem possible on the male plug. Can you make any suggestions. Awesome product by the way. Hey, while we're at it, is there a way to make my old cable "tangle-proof" like the newer models?

Looking to replace the two soft rubber blue pads that have 7 little pegs on one side and four rectangle molds sticking out on the other side. They fit on the pink plastic bracket around the bottom insides like a brush guard or something. They are a little under 8.5 inches long and 2 inches wide. Both fell off and will not stay in anymore. one thing to note, if the unit stop running and the power supply is on, usually the motor is the culprit, if the power supply is off then the power supply is usually bad. if both shut off then there is a short somewhere in the system.

Hi, I have a Dolphin Diagnostic. it has been working fine but recently stopped working. When I power it up it moves a little bit reverses then stops. I have been told that it may be the board inside the robot. can you tell me if this is the problem? Or where can I bring it in my area for repair? and is this an expensive repair, as the unit was costly to begin with, I don't want to be shocked by a large repair bill.

Is there any maximum amount of time that a Dolphin pool cleaner can be left in a pool? Do i need to remove it every so many hours to let it dry out? Someone told me that the warranty would not be any good if I left the dolphin in the pool for too many hours, but I can't find any information about this. Thank you for your advice.

I have a Dolphin Dynamic. I don't remember precisely when I bought it but I would estimate it to be about 3-4 years old. In the past year it has started to operate poorly. Currently, when I turn it on at the caddy, it goes through its normal start up routine (pivoting then setting off in a straight line) and runs for about 30 seconds, making perhaps two passes. Then it slows down, the impeller stops turning, it keeps crawling along at a slower and slower speed and then stops. If I turn it off for a minute then turn it back on, it does the same thing -- runs for less than a minute then stops. I have cleaned the bag and washed it in the washing machine as recommended by Dolphin USA Customer Service. I have checked the tracks and interior for any blockages or foreign objects. Everything looks clean. What could the problem be? I only use this machine for a few months of the year, and not very often at that. I have a weekly pool service that vacuums and cleans my pool. The unit is stored in its caddy under a roofed pool cabana and we live in California where it is not subjected to freezing winter weather. Total hours of use on the system aren't that many. Surely your product should last longer than this? Can you please help me with this?

I have a 4 year old Dolphin Diagnostic, starting last year it would start to move and the impeller would start sucking water, but after a few minutes it would stop sucking water and try to climb the side wall over and over for hours but could not because there was no suction from the impeller. It is now basically useless.

Hi My Dolphin pool robot does a good job in cleaning the pool and I have had it for 3 years now but lately it has decided to only clean about half the pool, on the deep end. I can not see anything that is stuck in the cleaner. What would cause my robot to loose it's way?

My Dolphin Diagnostic Advantage would make a little move forwards then a little move back and stop. I checked the drive train and it was basically clean. Now it runs longer 6-8 feet and stops. I noticed the impeller is not spinning. I don't know if it was originally, but isn't now and isn't clogged.

Is this a repairable problem?

The older power supplies, may or may not have a fuse housing depending on what circuit card is inside the unit. Most of them have a fuse, which is accessible on the outside rear housing of the power supply.
