Dolphin Runs for 15 Minutes

I bought my Dolphin Diagnostic Advantage in May2006 i have a screened in pool so i only use it a couple of times each season at the moment it only works for about 15 minutes and then stops what can I do to find problem and deal with it.It did this last year as well but it ran for a couple of hours..Please let me know what I should do next

Maytronics will tell you that you need to send to repair. They will replace the motor unit and charge ~$500, about what a new one cost during promotions.
Typically, internal resistors burn out. These resistors are $0.15 cent items but Maytronics will not support any internal parts other than an entire motor assembly.
The motor assemblies typically leak water, destroy and internal dessicant package that spills it's innards all over the motor box.
I also bought one back in 2007, used it a few cycles each year, and it failed this year.
