Dolphin Supreme M3

by Jim

I have an above ground round pool. The M3 is getting stuck at a 45 degree angle between the wall and floor; both left wheels or right wheels are on the floor. The wheels spin but the vacuum doesn't move. The vacuum works fine otherwise. The wheels and tracks are not visibly worn. The vacuum is 3 years old, though. What is the problem?

Try the PVA brushes or a PVA ring on the far side of each wheel

Gets stuck between floor and wall, 100% RELIABLY
by: Anonymous

I have exactly the same issue, from new. I have a fibreglass pool, and the curve between wall and floor allows the M3 to climb to a point, then end up sideways. Both tracks spin without contact, cos the lower track is suspended by the side cover contacting the floor, while the upper track was suspended by the rubber whiskers against the wall. It did this within minutes of operation, 100% reliably. So i trimmed the whiskers a bit shorter, so the upper track could gain traction. All that's done is to slightly change the angle of the M3. The upper track now contacts the wall briefly, but mostly the water movement it produces pushes it away from the wall. If it went slower, or was heavier, maybe it wouldn't get perched on its side like it does.

If the robot has been behaving this way since it was brand new then I would dismiss the brushes and tracks. Otherwise...
