opening the pool for the start of the season , i put the cleaner into the pool and went to start , but no action , i cleaned and serviced the unit at the end of the season and tested and it all worked fine . so what had happened when storing it after servicing and testing?
The first step was to measure the transformer output for 28vdc which proved positive , fearing the worst i thought it may be a motor fault , before delving into that scenario , i removed the cover and removed the 2 pin connector into the motor . i then tested the cable both ends for continuity black to black brown to brown with a meter .
i found the brown cable did not buzz out so that was the problem , i further investigated where the cable may have lost its continuity , the first step was to investigate the nylon white bulb like unit , i unscrewed one end to find two brass spring loaded pins one pin was retracted and did not connect with power in contact rings , cleaning both pins and testing i reassembled and carried out the continuity on both cores end to end , BOTH NOW WORKED !
REASSMBELD AND NOW CLEANING THE POOL , HUGE RELIEF, SO WITH MY FINDINGS DO NOT THINK THE WORST AS IT MAY BE AS SIMPLE AS EXPLAINED ABOVE
