Pool Cleaner Power Cable

I had the cleaner stored for the winter and our bunny got out of his cage and decided to chew on the cord. Of course he chewed on the end closest to the cleaner. Is there anyway to replace the cord - he chewed all the way to the white wire. What can be used to cover over the cord since it is in the water?

You can replace the cable or just shorten it, cutting back to the damage.

If the wire insulation is ok, you can also slide marine heat shrink tubing over the damage. Must be marine grade.
